B. J. Crombeen
B. J. Crombeen (born July 10, 1985) is a retired Canadian professional ice hockey player. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Dallas Stars, St. Louis Blues, Tampa Bay Lightning, and Arizona Coyotes. Crombeen was known for his role as a physical forward and enforcer during his career.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Crombeen was born in Denver, Colorado, but grew up in Ontario, Canada. He is the son of former NHL player Mike Crombeen. B. J. Crombeen played junior hockey for the Barrie Colts and the Owen Sound Attack in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL).
Playing Career[edit | edit source]
Junior Career[edit | edit source]
Crombeen began his junior career with the Barrie Colts in the 2001-2002 season. He later played for the Owen Sound Attack, where he developed a reputation as a tough, physical player. In his final season in the OHL, Crombeen served as the team captain.
Professional Career[edit | edit source]
Crombeen was drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round, 54th overall, of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut with the Stars during the 2007-2008 season.
Dallas Stars[edit | edit source]
Crombeen played parts of two seasons with the Dallas Stars, primarily in a fourth-line role. He was known for his physical play and willingness to drop the gloves.
St. Louis Blues[edit | edit source]
In November 2008, Crombeen was claimed off waivers by the St. Louis Blues. He played four seasons with the Blues, where he continued to be a physical presence on the ice. Crombeen also contributed offensively, achieving career highs in goals and points during his tenure with the Blues.
Tampa Bay Lightning[edit | edit source]
Crombeen was traded to the Tampa Bay Lightning in July 2012. He played two seasons with the Lightning, where he continued to serve as an enforcer and penalty killer.
Arizona Coyotes[edit | edit source]
Crombeen signed with the Arizona Coyotes for the 2014-2015 season. He played one season with the Coyotes before retiring from professional hockey.

After retiring from professional hockey, Crombeen has been involved in various charitable activities and has worked as a hockey analyst.
