Backward speech

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Backward speech, also known as backward masking or reversed speech, is a phenomenon in which speech is played in reverse. This can be done by recording speech and then reversing the recording or by using digital software to reverse the speech. Backward speech has been used in various settings, including in music, where it is sometimes used for artistic effect, and in psychology, where it has been studied as a potential tool for understanding the subconscious mind. However, the scientific evidence for the use of backward speech as a tool for understanding the subconscious mind is limited and inconclusive.
