- Baden was incorporated as a borough in 1840. The town was named after the German town of Baden-Baden, reflecting the heritage of many of its early settlers.

- Baden is located at 40°38′58″N 80°13′44″W. The borough has a total area of 2.9 square miles, of which 2.8 square miles is land and 0.1 square miles is water.
