Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT) is a National Health Service (NHS) trust that operates two hospitals in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham, London Borough of Havering, and London Borough of Redbridge in London, United Kingdom. The trust was established in 2000 and provides acute healthcare services to a population of over 750,000 from a diverse range of communities.

The BHRUT was established on 1st April 2000, following the merger of Oldchurch NHS Trust and Barking, Havering and Brentwood Community Healthcare NHS Trust. The trust operates two main hospitals: King George Hospital and Queen's Hospital.

The trust provides a wide range of services including emergency care, maternity services, paediatrics, cancer care, mental health services, and outpatient services. It also offers specialist services such as neurology, cardiology, and orthopaedics.

Performance[edit | edit source]

The trust has faced several challenges in terms of performance and has been under special measures since 2013. However, it has shown significant improvement in recent years, with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) rating it as 'Good' in their 2019 inspection.

Governance[edit | edit source]

The trust is overseen by a board that includes executive and non-executive directors. The current Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is Tony Chambers.
