Bartow County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 108,901. The county seat is Cartersville.

Bartow County was created on December 3, 1832, originally as Cass County, named after General Lewis Cass. In 1861, the county was renamed in honor of Francis S. Bartow, a Confederate officer who was the first brigade commander to die in combat during the American Civil War.
The county has a rich history, with significant Native American heritage, particularly from the Cherokee people. The Etowah Indian Mounds, a major archaeological site, is located in Bartow County and provides insight into the Mississippian culture that thrived in the area before European contact.
