Bay Terrace, Queens

Bay Terrace is a neighborhood located in the northeastern part of Queens, one of the five boroughs of New York City. It is bounded by the East River to the north and the neighborhood of Bayside to the west and south. Bay Terrace is known for its quiet, suburban-like environment and its diverse community.

History

Bay Terrace was originally a part of the larger Bayside neighborhood. In the early 20th century, it was primarily farmland until the real estate boom of the 1920s. The neighborhood was officially named "Bay Terrace" in 1953, due to its geographical location overlooking the East River.
