The Great British Bake Off (series 4) is the fourth series of The Great British Bake Off, a British television baking competition produced by Love Productions. The series aired on BBC Two from 20 August 2013 to 22 October 2013. The show is presented by Mel Giedroyc and Sue Perkins, with Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood returning as judges.

The format of the show involves a group of amateur bakers competing in a series of rounds, attempting to impress a group of judges with their baking skills. Each episode features a different theme, and the bakers are tasked with creating three bakes: a Signature Bake, a Technical Challenge, and a Showstopper.

The bakers were tasked with creating a Signature Cake, a Angel Food Cake for the Technical Challenge, and a Chocolate Cake Showstopper.
Episode 2: Bread[edit | edit source]
The bakers faced a Signature Bread challenge, a Technical Challenge involving Focaccia, and a Showstopper involving a Bread Sculpture.
Episode 3: Desserts[edit | edit source]
The bakers created a Signature Dessert, a Technical Challenge of Tarte Tatin, and a Showstopper involving a Layered Mousse Cake.
Episode 4: Pies and Tarts[edit | edit source]
The bakers made a Signature Pie, a Technical Challenge of Egg Custard Tarts, and a Showstopper involving a Three-Tiered Pie.
Episode 5: Biscuits and Traybakes[edit | edit source]
The bakers created a Signature Biscuit, a Technical Challenge of Tuiles, and a Showstopper involving a Biscuit Tower.

The bakers faced a Signature Sweet Dough challenge, a Technical Challenge of Apricot Couronne, and a Showstopper involving a Sweet Dough Sculpture.

The bakers made a Signature Pastry, a Technical Challenge of Choux Pastry, and a Showstopper involving a Pastry Centrepiece.
Episode 8: Quarter Final - Advanced Dough[edit | edit source]
The bakers created a Signature Advanced Dough, a Technical Challenge of Pretzels, and a Showstopper involving a Dough Sculpture.
Episode 9: Semi-Final - Patisserie[edit | edit source]
The bakers faced a Signature Patisserie challenge, a Technical Challenge of Opera Cake, and a Showstopper involving a Patisserie Tower.

The final episode required the bakers to create a Signature Final Bake, a Technical Challenge of Victoria Sandwich, and a Showstopper involving a Wedding Cake.
