Beck Hansen
Beck Hansen, known mononymously as Beck, is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and record producer. He rose to fame in the early 1990s with his experimental and lo-fi style, and became widely known for his hit single "Loser" from his 1994 album Mellow Gold. Beck's musical style has evolved over the years, incorporating elements of rock, folk, psychedelic, country, and electronic music. He is known for his sonic experimentation, ironic lyrics, and eclectic mix of musical genres.

Beck was born Bek David Campbell on July 8, 1970, in Los Angeles, California. He is the son of Canadian musician David Campbell and American visual artist Bibbe Hansen. Beck dropped out of high school in the tenth grade, but later said that his education continued through a program that allowed him to take college courses. He began performing on the streets and small venues in New York City and Los Angeles.

Beck's career began in the late 1980s and early 1990s, playing in a variety of folk and anti-folk groups. After moving back to Los Angeles, he started to get noticed for his unique style that blended various genres. His breakthrough came with the 1993 single "Loser," which was a hit on college radio and led to a major record deal with Geffen Records.
His debut album, Mellow Gold, was released in 1994 and was a commercial success. Beck continued to explore different musical styles in his subsequent albums, including Odelay (1996), which won a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album, Sea Change (2002), a more melancholic and acoustic album, and Morning Phase (2014), which won Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards.
Throughout his career, Beck has been known for his innovative music videos and live performances. He has collaborated with a wide range of artists and producers, further showcasing his versatility as a musician.
