Benjamin Philip Watson
Benjamin Philip Watson (born 1985) is a British professional footballer who plays as a midfielder. He is known for his time at Wigan Athletic F.C., where he scored the winning goal in the 2013 FA Cup Final.

Watson was born in Camberwell, London, and began his youth career at Crystal Palace F.C.'s academy. He progressed through the ranks and made his first-team debut in 2003.

Crystal Palace[edit | edit source]
Watson made his debut for Crystal Palace F.C. in 2003 and quickly established himself as a key player. He was known for his passing ability and set-piece expertise. During his time at the club, he made over 150 appearances and scored several important goals.
Wigan Athletic[edit | edit source]
In January 2009, Watson transferred to Wigan Athletic F.C. for an undisclosed fee. He became a crucial part of the team and is best remembered for his performance in the 2013 FA Cup Final against Manchester City F.C.. Watson scored the only goal of the match in the 91st minute, securing Wigan's first-ever FA Cup victory.
Later Career[edit | edit source]
After his time at Wigan, Watson had stints with several other clubs, including Queens Park Rangers F.C., Watford F.C., and Nottingham Forest F.C.. He continued to be a reliable midfielder, known for his leadership and experience on the field.
International Career[edit | edit source]
Watson has represented England U21 at various youth levels but has not made an appearance for the senior national team.
