Bilinga

Bilinga is a coastal suburb in the City of Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia. It is situated on the southern end of the Gold Coast, adjacent to the border with New South Wales. Bilinga is known for its beautiful beaches, residential areas, and proximity to the Gold Coast Airport.

The name Bilinga is derived from an Aboriginal word meaning "bats." The area was originally part of the Tweed Heads and Coolangatta region. Bilinga was officially named in 1918 when the South Coast railway line was extended to the area. The suburb developed rapidly after the establishment of the railway station, which facilitated access to the region.

Bilinga is bordered by the suburbs of Tugun to the north, Coolangatta to the south, and the Pacific Ocean to the east. The Gold Coast Highway runs through the suburb, providing easy access to other parts of the Gold Coast.
