- Blountstown is a city located in Calhoun County, Florida, United States. It is the county seat of Calhoun County and is situated along the Apalachicola River. The city is named after John Blount, a Seminole Indian Chief who served as a guide for General Andrew Jackson during his invasion of Spanish Florida in 1818. This event is annually commemorated with the celebration of the Blountstown River Festival.
