Obstetrics/gynecology
Obstetrics is a specialty of medicine and surgery that deals with pregnancy, labor and delivery of the baby while gynecology deals with diseases and disorders of the women, with respect to reproductive health.
Obstetricians and Gynecologists[edit | edit source]
- Obstetricians and Gynecologists are physicians that provide medical care related to pregnancy or childbirth.
- These physicians diagnose, treat, and help prevent diseases of women, particularly those affecting the reproductive system.
- May also provide general care to women.
- May perform both medical and gynecological surgery functions.
