Borja Mayoral Moya (born 5 April 1997) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a forward for La Liga club Getafe CF.

Club career[edit | edit source]

Real Madrid[edit | edit source]

Mayoral joined the Real Madrid youth academy, La Fábrica, in 2007 at the age of 10. He progressed through the ranks and made his senior debut with Real Madrid Castilla in the Segunda División B during the 2015–16 season. On 31 October 2015, he made his first-team debut for Real Madrid in a La Liga match against UD Las Palmas.

Loan to VfL Wolfsburg[edit | edit source]

In July 2016, Mayoral was loaned to Bundesliga club VfL Wolfsburg for the 2016–17 season. He made 21 appearances and scored 2 goals during his time in Germany.

Return to Real Madrid[edit | edit source]

After his loan spell, Mayoral returned to Real Madrid for the 2017–18 season. He scored his first competitive goal for the club on 17 September 2017 in a La Liga match against Real Sociedad.

Loan to Levante[edit | edit source]

On 31 August 2018, Mayoral joined Levante UD on a season-long loan. He scored 3 goals in 29 appearances during the 2018–19 season. His loan was extended for another season, and he scored 8 goals in 34 appearances in the 2019–20 season.

Loan to Roma[edit | edit source]

On 2 October 2020, Mayoral was loaned to Serie A club AS Roma for two seasons. He scored 17 goals in 48 appearances across all competitions during his time in Italy.

Getafe[edit | edit source]

On 31 January 2022, Mayoral joined Getafe CF on loan for the remainder of the 2021–22 season. He made the move permanent on 1 July 2022, signing a five-year contract with the club.

International career[edit | edit source]

Mayoral has represented Spain at various youth levels, including the U19 and U21 teams. He was part of the squad that won the 2015 UEFA European Under-19 Championship and the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship.

Playing style[edit | edit source]

Mayoral is known for his technical skills, positioning, and finishing ability. He is often deployed as a central forward but is also capable of playing as a second striker.
