Bos Banteng (also known as Banteng, Temban, or Javan Banteng) is a species of wild cattle found in Southeast Asia.

Bos Banteng is a large animal, with males reaching up to 1.65 meters in height and weighing up to 900 kilograms. Females are slightly smaller, reaching up to 1.5 meters in height and weighing up to 700 kilograms. The species is characterized by its white rump patch, long horns, and a hump over the shoulders.

Distribution and Habitat[edit | edit source]

Bos Banteng is native to Southeast Asia, including countries such as Indonesia, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam. They inhabit a variety of habitats, including deciduous forests, evergreen forests, and savannahs.

Behavior and Diet[edit | edit source]

Bos Banteng are primarily nocturnal, spending the day resting and the night foraging. They are herbivores, feeding on a variety of plant materials including leaves, fruits, and grasses.

Conservation Status[edit | edit source]

Bos Banteng is listed as Endangered on the IUCN Red List due to habitat loss and hunting. Conservation efforts are ongoing to protect this species and its habitat.
