Boynton Beach
Boynton Beach is a city located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. As of the 2020 United States Census, the city had a population of approximately 78,679. Boynton Beach is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area, which was home to an estimated 6,012,331 people at the 2015 census.

The city of Boynton Beach was founded by Nathan Boynton, a Civil War major from Michigan. He was so impressed by the natural beauty of the area that he built the famous Boynton Hotel to serve as his winter residence. The city was incorporated in 1920 and has grown steadily since.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Boynton Beach is located at 26°31′41″N 80°5′7″W. According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.25 square miles, of which 15.88 square miles is land and 0.37 square miles is water.
Demographics[edit | edit source]
As of the census of 2010, there were 68,217 people, 27,742 households, and 17,592 families residing in the city. The population density was 4,289.9 inhabitants per square mile.
Economy[edit | edit source]
Boynton Beach's economy is a mix of tourism, retail, and commercial and residential construction. The city's top employers include Bethesda Memorial Hospital, the city of Boynton Beach, and Palm Beach County School District.
Education[edit | edit source]
Public education in Boynton Beach is administered by the Palm Beach County School District. The city is home to several elementary, middle, and high schools. Higher education is provided by the nearby Florida Atlantic University and Palm Beach State College.
Transportation[edit | edit source]
Boynton Beach is served by the Palm Tran bus system and the Tri-Rail commuter train, which connects the city to Miami. The city is also easily accessible via the Interstate 95 and the Florida Turnpike.
