Bozeman is a city in and the county seat of Gallatin County, Montana, United States. It is located in the southwestern part of the state and is one of the principal cities of the Bozeman, MT Micropolitan Statistical Area. As of the 2020 census, the population of Bozeman was approximately 53,293, making it the fourth-largest city in Montana.

Bozeman was established in 1864 and named after John M. Bozeman, a pioneer who helped establish the Bozeman Trail, a route connecting the gold rush territory of Montana to the Oregon Trail. The city grew rapidly due to its strategic location and the establishment of the Montana State University in 1893.

Bozeman is situated in the Gallatin Valley and is surrounded by several mountain ranges, including the Bridger Mountains, the Gallatin Range, and the Madison Range. The city covers an area of approximately 19.15 square miles.
