Buffy

Buffy is a television series that aired from 1997 to 2003. Created by Joss Whedon, the show follows the life of Buffy Summers, a young woman chosen to battle against vampires, demons, and other supernatural forces. The series is set in the fictional town of Sunnydale, California, which is situated on a Hellmouth, a portal to demonic dimensions.

The series begins with Buffy Summers, played by Sarah Michelle Gellar, moving to Sunnydale after being expelled from her previous school for burning down the gym (which was infested with vampires). She hopes to leave her past behind and live a normal life, but her destiny as the Slayer—a young woman endowed with superhuman strength and agility to fight evil—continues to follow her. Buffy is guided by her Watcher, Rupert Giles, played by Anthony Stewart Head. Giles is a librarian at Sunnydale High School and provides Buffy with the knowledge and training she needs to combat the forces of darkness. Buffy is also supported by her friends, known as the Scooby Gang, which includes Willow Rosenberg (played by Alyson Hannigan), Xander Harris (played by Nicholas Brendon), and later, Anya Jenkins (played by Emma Caulfield).
