Canales Rivera
José Antonio Canales Rivera (born 28 March 1974) is a Spanish bullfighter and television personality. He is a member of the prominent Canales Rivera family, which has a long history in the world of bullfighting.
Early Life[edit | edit source]
Canales Rivera was born in Barbate, a town in the province of Cádiz, Spain. He is the son of José Antonio Canales and Teresa Rivera, and the nephew of the famous bullfighter Paquirri (Francisco Rivera Pérez). His cousins, Francisco Rivera Ordóñez and Cayetano Rivera Ordóñez, are also well-known bullfighters.
Bullfighting Career[edit | edit source]
Canales Rivera began his career in bullfighting at a young age, following in the footsteps of his family. He made his debut as a novillero (novice bullfighter) in the early 1990s and quickly gained recognition for his skill and bravery in the ring. He took his alternativa (ceremony in which a novillero becomes a full matador) on 28 March 1999 in Jerez de la Frontera, with Enrique Ponce as his godfather and Francisco Rivera Ordóñez as his witness.

In addition to his bullfighting career, Canales Rivera has also become a well-known television personality in Spain. He has appeared on various Spanish television programs, including reality shows and talk shows. His charisma and family background have made him a popular figure in the Spanish media.
