Candes-Saint-Martin
Candes-Saint-Martin is a small village located in the Indre-et-Loire department of the Centre-Val de Loire region in France. It is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in France (Plus Beaux Villages de France) and is steeped in history and cultural significance.

Candes-Saint-Martin is situated at the confluence of the Vienne River and the Loire River. The village is surrounded by limestone cliffs and offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.

The village is named after Saint Martin of Tours, who is said to have died here in 397 AD. The Collegiate Church of Saint-Martin was built in his honor between the 12th and 13th centuries and is a notable example of Romanesque architecture.
