The Canton of Vaud (French: [vo] ) is one of the 26 cantons of Switzerland. It is located in the western part of the country and is part of the French-speaking region. The capital of Vaud is Lausanne, which is also the largest city in the canton.

The Canton of Vaud is situated in the western part of Switzerland, bordered by the Canton of Geneva, Canton of Neuchâtel, Canton of Fribourg, Canton of Bern, and Canton of Valais. It also shares international borders with France to the west. The canton covers an area of 3,212 square kilometers, making it the third-largest canton in Switzerland by area.
The geography of Vaud is diverse, with the Jura Mountains to the north and the Alps to the southeast. The Lake Geneva (Lac Léman) forms part of the southern border of the canton, providing a picturesque setting and a mild climate.
