Capriotti's

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Capriotti's is an American fast food chain that specializes in submarine sandwiches. The company was founded in Wilmington, Delaware in 1976 by Lois Margolet and her brother Alan. The name "Capriotti's" was chosen because it was their grandfather's last name.

History[edit | edit source]

The first Capriotti's store was opened in a small building that had previously housed a pawn shop. The founders of the company, Lois Margolet and her brother Alan, used their own savings to start the business. They decided to focus on making fresh, high-quality sandwiches, using ingredients such as roasted turkey and roast beef that were cooked in-house.

In 1987, the first franchised Capriotti's store was opened. Since then, the company has expanded to over 100 locations across the United States. In 2008, Capriotti's was named one of the "10 Great Places for a Surprising Sandwich" by USA Today.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Capriotti's is known for its unique sandwich offerings. The chain's signature sandwich is the "Bobbie," which is made with homemade turkey, cranberry sauce, stuffing, and mayonnaise. Other popular menu items include the "Capastrami," which features hot pastrami, Swiss cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing, and the "Slaw Be Jo," which is made with roast beef, provolone cheese, coleslaw, and Russian dressing.

In addition to sandwiches, Capriotti's also offers salads, vegetarian options, and a kids' menu.
