Carine Feyten
Carine Feyten is a Belgian-born academic and the current Chancellor and President of Texas Woman's University (TWU). She is known for her contributions to higher education, particularly in the areas of language education, women's leadership, and global education.
Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]
Carine Feyten was born in Belgium. She earned her bachelor's degree in Germanic Philology from the University of Leuven in Belgium. She then pursued her master's degree in English, also from the University of Leuven. Feyten later moved to the United States, where she completed her Ph.D. in Interdisciplinary Education, with a focus on Second Language Acquisition, from the University of South Florida.
Academic Career[edit | edit source]
Feyten began her academic career as a faculty member at the University of South Florida, where she taught courses in language education and second language acquisition. She later joined the faculty at Miami University in Ohio, where she served as the Dean of the School of Education, Health, and Society.
In 2014, Carine Feyten was appointed as the Chancellor and President of Texas Woman's University, becoming the second woman to hold this position in the university's history. Under her leadership, TWU has seen significant growth in enrollment, research funding, and community engagement.

Carine Feyten is recognized for her work in promoting women's leadership in higher education. She has been an advocate for increasing the representation of women in leadership positions and has worked to create opportunities for women to advance in their careers.
