Central lateral nucleus
The central lateral nucleus (CLN) is a group of neurons located in the brainstem that are involved in the regulation of movement and muscle tone. The CLN receives input from the cerebellum and the spinal cord and sends output to the motor nuclei of the brainstem, which control the muscles of the body. Damage or dysfunction of the CLN can result in movement disorders such as spasticity or dystonia.
