The establishment of Chandpur Medical College was part of a government initiative to expand medical education and healthcare facilities across Bangladesh. The college was officially inaugurated in 2018, with the first batch of students admitted in the same year. The college is affiliated with Chittagong Medical University, which oversees its academic programs and examinations.
