Charcot shower

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

A Charcot shower is a type of therapy used to treat individuals with spinal cord injuries or other conditions that affect the ability to control their body movements. The therapy involves having the patient stand in a shower that sprays water at different pressures and temperatures, which can help to stimulate muscle movement and improve circulation. The therapy is named after Jean-Martin Charcot, a French neurologist who first proposed using water therapy to treat movement disorders in the 19th century.
