The Chicago Sun-Times is a daily newspaper published in Chicago, Illinois, United States. It is one of the two major daily newspapers in the city, the other being the Chicago Tribune. The Sun-Times is known for its tabloid format and its focus on local news, sports, and entertainment.

The origins of the Chicago Sun-Times date back to 1844 with the founding of the Chicago Daily Journal, which was the first newspaper to publish the rumor of Abraham Lincoln's assassination. In 1948, the Chicago Sun and the Chicago Daily Times merged to form the Chicago Sun-Times.
The newspaper has undergone several ownership changes over the years. In 1984, it was purchased by Rupert Murdoch's News Corporation, and in 1986, it was sold to a group of investors led by Conrad Black. In 2009, the Sun-Times filed for bankruptcy but was later acquired by a group of investors led by James Tyree.
In 2017, the Sun-Times was acquired by a consortium of unions and investors, including the Chicago Federation of Labor. In 2021, it was announced that Alden Global Capital would acquire the Sun-Times.
