Chiclets

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

Chiclets are a brand of candy-coated chewing gum manufactured by Cadbury Adams. The name "Chiclets" is derived from the Nahuatl word tziktli, which means "chewing gum" in English. Chiclets have a distinctive square shape and are available in a variety of flavors and colors.

History[edit | edit source]

Chiclets were introduced in 1900 by the American Chicle Company, a business that was later acquired by Warner-Lambert in 1962. Warner-Lambert was subsequently bought by Pfizer in 2000. In 2002, Pfizer sold the Adams division to Cadbury Schweppes, which incorporated it into its Cadbury Adams subsidiary.

Product Description[edit | edit source]

Chiclets are small, square-shaped pieces of candy-coated chewing gum. They are traditionally sold in small boxes containing two pieces of gum. The original flavor of Chiclets is peppermint, but over the years, many other flavors have been introduced, including spearmint, cinnamon, and various fruit flavors.

Cultural Impact[edit | edit source]

Chiclets have had a significant cultural impact in many parts of the world. In some countries, the term "chiclet" is used colloquially to refer to any type of chewing gum. Chiclets have also been featured in various forms of media, including films, television shows, and songs.
