Chico
Chico is a city located in Butte County, California, United States. It is the most populous city in Butte County and is known for its vibrant community, educational institutions, and natural beauty.

Chico was founded in 1860 by General John Bidwell, a prominent pioneer and politician. The city was incorporated in 1872. Chico's early economy was based on agriculture, particularly wheat and orchards. The arrival of the California and Oregon Railroad in 1870 spurred further growth and development.
Geography[edit | edit source]
Chico is situated in the northern part of the Sacramento Valley, approximately 90 miles north of Sacramento. The city covers an area of 34.6 square miles, with the Sierra Nevada to the east and the Coast Ranges to the west.

Chico has a Mediterranean climate characterized by hot, dry summers and mild, wet winters. The average high temperature in July is around 95°F (35°C), while the average low temperature in January is around 37°F (3°C).
