Chinese Filipino
Chinese Filipino (Filipino: Tsinoys) are Filipinos of Chinese descent, either born in or having ancestors from China. They are one of the largest overseas Chinese communities in Southeast Asia. Chinese Filipinos are well represented in all levels of Filipino society.

The history of Chinese Filipinos dates back to the 9th century when traders from Southern China started to trade with the indigenous people of the Philippines. The traders eventually settled in the Philippines, marking the start of the Chinese Filipino community.
Culture[edit | edit source]
Chinese Filipinos have a distinct culture that is a blend of Filipino and Chinese traditions. They celebrate traditional Chinese festivals such as Chinese New Year and Mid-Autumn Festival, while also observing Filipino customs and traditions.
Economy[edit | edit source]
Chinese Filipinos have played a significant role in the Philippine economy. Many of the Philippines' largest and most successful businesses, including SM Prime Holdings, Jollibee, and Ayala Corporation, are owned by Chinese Filipinos.
Education[edit | edit source]
Education is highly valued in the Chinese Filipino community. Many Chinese Filipinos attend Chinese schools that offer a curriculum that includes subjects taught in Mandarin Chinese in addition to the standard Philippine curriculum.
Religion[edit | edit source]
The majority of Chinese Filipinos are Buddhists, with a significant minority practicing Christianity. There are also Chinese Filipinos who practice Taoism and Confucianism.
