Chocolate Habanero is a variety of Habanero pepper that is distinguished by its unique brown color. It is also known as Congo Black or Black Habanero.

The Chocolate Habanero is a Capsicum chinense pepper that is characterized by its lantern shape and smooth, shiny skin. The peppers mature from green to a rich, chocolate brown color. They are typically 2 to 3 inches in length and 1 to 2 inches in width.

The Chocolate Habanero is one of the hottest peppers in the Habanero family, with a Scoville Heat Unit rating of 425,000 to 577,000. This makes it significantly hotter than a regular Habanero, which typically rates between 100,000 to 350,000 on the Scoville scale.

Chocolate Habaneros are grown in similar conditions to other Habanero peppers. They prefer a warm, humid climate and well-drained soil. The plants are typically 24 to 36 inches in height and produce a high yield of peppers.

Due to their intense heat, Chocolate Habaneros are used sparingly in cooking. They are popular in Caribbean cuisine, where they are used in hot sauces, marinades, and traditional dishes. The peppers have a slightly smoky, sweet flavor that complements a variety of foods.
