Chris Gedney

Chris Gedney was a former American football player who played as a tight end in the National Football League (NFL). He was born on August 9, 1970, in Liverpool, New York. Gedney attended Syracuse University where he played college football for the Syracuse Orange football team.

After a successful college career, Gedney was selected by the Chicago Bears in the third round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He played for the Bears from 1993 to 1994 before joining the Arizona Cardinals in 1995. Gedney spent three seasons with the Cardinals before retiring from professional football.

Throughout his NFL career, Gedney was known for his blocking skills and receiving abilities as a tight end. He was a reliable target for quarterbacks and contributed to his teams both on and off the field.

Following his retirement from football, Gedney pursued a career in sports broadcasting. He worked as a radio analyst for Syracuse University football games and also served as a color commentator for NFL broadcasts.

Tragically, Chris Gedney passed away on March 9, 2018, at the age of 47. His contributions to the game of football and his impact on the community continue to be remembered by fans and colleagues alike.
