Chris Potter (born January 1, 1971) is an American jazz saxophonist, composer, and multi-instrumentalist. He is widely recognized as one of the leading saxophonists of his generation and has made significant contributions to the contemporary jazz scene.

Chris Potter was born in Chicago, Illinois, and grew up in Columbia, South Carolina. He began playing the alto saxophone at a young age and quickly demonstrated a prodigious talent for music.
