Citrus glauca

Citrus glauca, also known as the Desert Lime, is a thorny shrub or small tree native to Australia. It belongs to the Rutaceae family and is part of the Citrus genus. The plant is well adapted to arid environments and is found in the wild in the states of Queensland, New South Wales, and South Australia.

The Citrus glauca grows up to 3 meters in height and has small, round leaves. The plant produces small, round fruits that are about 1 cm in diameter. The fruits are green when young, turning yellow as they mature. They have a strong, tangy flavor and are rich in Vitamin C.

Cultivation and Uses[edit | edit source]

Citrus glauca is cultivated for its fruit, which is used in a variety of culinary applications. The fruit can be eaten fresh or used in the production of marmalades, sauces, and desserts. It is also used in the production of a unique Australian liqueur. The plant is also used in landscaping due to its hardiness and attractive appearance.

The Citrus glauca is not currently listed as threatened or endangered. However, like many native Australian species, it faces threats from habitat loss and climate change.
