Clark's Pies

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

Clark's Pies, also known as Clarkie's, is a pie manufacturer based in Cardiff, Wales. The company was established in 1913 by Mary Clark, and it has since become a staple of the local cuisine.

History[edit | edit source]

Mary Clark, a native of Newcastle, moved to Cardiff in the early 20th century. She began making pies in her own kitchen, using a recipe that remains a closely guarded secret to this day. The popularity of her pies led to the establishment of Clark's Pies in 1913.

The business has remained in the Clark family for over a century, with the fifth generation currently at the helm. Despite changes in ownership, the company's commitment to quality and tradition has remained constant.

Products[edit | edit source]

Clark's Pies are known for their distinctive shape, which is a result of the unique baking process. The pies are baked in a round, rather than a square or rectangular, tin. This gives them a characteristic round shape, which is often referred to as a "Clarkie".

The company offers a variety of fillings, including beef, chicken, and vegetable. All pies are made with high-quality ingredients and are free from artificial preservatives.

Recognition[edit | edit source]

Clark's Pies has received numerous awards for its products, including the Great Taste Award. The company's pies are also a popular choice at local sporting events, and they have been served at the Cardiff City Stadium and the Millennium Stadium.
