Cocaine (drink)
Cocaine (drink) is a highly caffeinated energy drink produced by Redux Beverages. It was first introduced in 2006 and has since gained a significant amount of attention due to its controversial name and high caffeine content.
History[edit | edit source]
The Cocaine energy drink was first launched in the United States by Redux Beverages in 2006. The company's choice of name for the drink was met with controversy, leading to a temporary ban on the product in 2007 by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The ban was lifted after Redux Beverages agreed to change the product's labeling and marketing.
Ingredients[edit | edit source]
Cocaine energy drink contains a blend of ingredients designed to provide a quick energy boost. These include caffeine, taurine, and guarana, among others. The drink is also notable for its high caffeine content, which is significantly higher than most other energy drinks on the market.
Controversy[edit | edit source]
The name "Cocaine" has been a source of controversy since the drink's introduction. Critics argue that it glamorizes drug use, while the company maintains that the name is meant to be tongue-in-cheek. The controversy led to the temporary ban by the FDA in 2007, as well as bans in several other countries.
