Committee Of Chiefs Of Military Medical Services In NATO (COMEDS) is a NATO committee that is responsible for providing advice and recommendations on military medicine to the NATO Military Committee. The committee is composed of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services from each NATO member country.

The Committee Of Chiefs Of Military Medical Services In NATO was established in 1961. The committee was created to provide a forum for the Chiefs of Military Medical Services to discuss issues related to military medicine and to provide advice and recommendations to the NATO Military Committee.
Role and Responsibilities[edit | edit source]
The main role of COMEDS is to provide advice and recommendations on military medicine to the NATO Military Committee. This includes advice on medical support for NATO operations, medical readiness, and medical training and education. The committee also coordinates the sharing of medical information and best practices among NATO member countries.
In addition to its advisory role, COMEDS also has a number of responsibilities related to the coordination of military medical services in NATO. This includes the development of medical policies and standards, the coordination of medical training and education, and the coordination of medical support for NATO operations.

COMEDS is composed of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services from each NATO member country. The committee is chaired by a Chief of Military Medical Service who is elected by the committee members for a term of two years. The committee also includes a number of sub-committees and working groups that focus on specific areas of military medicine.
