A coniferous forest is a type of forest characterized by cone-bearing, needle-leaved trees. These forests are primarily found in the northern hemisphere and are known for their cold climates and distinct seasonal changes. Coniferous forests are also referred to as taiga or boreal forests, especially when located in the high northern latitudes.
