History[edit | edit source]

The Cornwall Air Ambulance was established in 1987, making it one of the first air ambulances in the United Kingdom. Since its inception, the service has carried out over 26,000 missions, saving countless lives.

Operations[edit | edit source]

The Cornwall Air Ambulance operates two aircraft, both of which are equipped with advanced medical equipment. The aircraft are staffed by a team of highly trained paramedics and pilots, who are capable of reaching patients in remote areas of Cornwall within minutes.

The service operates 365 days a year, responding to a variety of emergencies, including trauma cases, cardiac arrest, and stroke. The aircraft are also used to transport patients to specialist hospitals outside of Cornwall when necessary.

Funding[edit | edit source]

As a charity, the Cornwall Air Ambulance Trust relies on donations from the public to fund its operations. The trust also organises a number of fundraising events throughout the year, including charity runs and auctions.
