Crema, Lombardy is a city and comune in the region of Lombardy, northern Italy, situated approximately 40 kilometers southeast of Milan. It is the capital of the province of Cremona, although it is not part of the province but is an enclave of the Metropolitan City of Milan.

The history of Crema dates back to the Roman Empire, when it was a rural settlement. The city gained importance in the Middle Ages as a free commune. In the 12th century, Crema was besieged and destroyed by the forces of Frederick Barbarossa, but was rebuilt and fortified, becoming one of the most important cities of northern Italy.
