Cruzan Rum
Cruzan Rum is a brand of rum produced in Saint Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. It is owned by Beam Suntory. The distillery was founded in 1760 and claims the distinction of "the most honored rum distillery in the world." For eight generations and through various changes in corporate ownership, the distillery has been managed by the Nelthropp family.

The Cruzan Rum distillery was established in 1760, making it one of the oldest active rum distilleries in the Caribbean. The distillery has been in continuous operation since its founding, with the exception of a brief period during Prohibition. The distillery was originally known as Estate Diamond, and has been managed by the Nelthropp family for eight generations.
Production[edit | edit source]
Cruzan Rum is produced using a mix of natural ingredients including rainwater collected from the distillery's own cisterns and a proprietary yeast strain used in fermentation. The rum is distilled in a five-column distillation system. The distillery produces a variety of rums, including light, dark, flavored and spiced. The aged rums are matured in American oak casks.

- Cruzan Aged Light Rum: A blend of rums aged one to four years in American oak casks.
- Cruzan Aged Dark Rum: A blend of rums aged two to four years, offering a fuller flavor than the light rum.
- Cruzan Single Barrel Rum: A premium rum aged up to 12 years and then bottled one cask at a time.
- Cruzan Flavored Rums: A line of rums infused with natural flavors such as coconut, mango, and vanilla.
- Cruzan Spiced Rum: A rum infused with a blend of spices.
