Cynon Valley Hospital (Welsh: Ysbyty Cwm Cynon) is a general health facility located in Mountain Ash, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Wales. It is managed by the Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board.

History[edit | edit source]

Cynon Valley Hospital was built to replace Aberdare General Hospital, Mountain Ash General Hospital, and St Tydfil's Hospital. The hospital was designed by HLM and constructed by Vinci Construction at a cost of £70 million. It officially opened in April 2012. The dental unit at the hospital was inaugurated by Lesley Griffiths, the Minister for Health and Social Services, in October 2012.
