CyraCom Language Solutions

From WikiMD's Food, Medicine & Wellness Encyclopedia

CyraCom International, Inc. is an American language services company that specializes in over-the-phone and video interpretation, as well as language assessment services. It is the largest provider of telephone interpretation services in the United States.

CyraCom was originally founded as Kevmark Industries in 1995 by Mark Myers and Kevin Carey. Myers invented the first dual-handset telephone, known as the CyraPhone, which allowed patients and providers to speak to an interpreter on a three-way call without passing a handset back and forth. In 1997, the company changed its name to CyraCom, inspired by Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac.

Today, CyraCom operates call centers and offices in the United States, the United Kingdom, and Costa Rica. It provides interpreters for hundreds of languages and serves various industries, including healthcare.
