History[edit]

DJ Food began as a collaboration between Coldcut members Matt Black and Jonathan More. The first release under the DJ Food moniker was the 1990 album Jazz Brakes Volume 1, which was followed by several more volumes in the series. In the mid-1990s, Kevin Foakes (Strictly Kev) joined the project, and over time, he became the primary force behind DJ Food. The project continued to evolve, incorporating a wide range of musical influences and collaborating with various artists.
