Daniel Howell
Daniel Howell (born 11 June 1991) is an English YouTuber, broadcaster, and author. He is best known for his YouTube channel Daniel Howell (formerly known as danisnotonfire), which has amassed millions of subscribers worldwide. Alongside his friend and fellow YouTuber Phil Lester, Howell has created a substantial online presence, including collaborative efforts such as the gaming channel DanAndPhilGAMES and the entertainment platform The Super Amazing Project.

Daniel James Howell was born in Wokingham, Berkshire, England. He attended The Forest School and later went on to study law at the University of Manchester, but he left after a year to focus on his YouTube career.

Howell uploaded his first YouTube video in 2009, quickly gaining a large following with his unique brand of humor and his candid discussion of personal issues, such as mental health. His channel, danisnotonfire, now known as Daniel Howell, features vlogs, comedy sketches, and "Internet Support Group" videos where he gives advice to his viewers.
Collaboration with Phil Lester[edit | edit source]
In 2010, Howell began collaborating with Phil Lester, another YouTuber known for his channel AmazingPhil. Together, they have hosted The Super Amazing Project, a web show that explored paranormal events and strange internet phenomena. They also launched a gaming channel, DanAndPhilGAMES, which became one of the most popular British gaming channels on YouTube.

In addition to their online work, Howell and Lester presented a Sunday night entertainment show on BBC Radio 1 from January 2013 to August 2016. They have also made appearances on various television shows and had their own tour, The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire, which was later released as a YouTube Originals film.

In 2015, Howell and Lester co-authored a book titled The Amazing Book Is Not On Fire (TABINOF), which became a New York Times Bestseller. This was followed by Dan and Phil Go Outside (DAPGO) in 2016, a photo book documenting their world tour.

Howell has been open about his struggles with depression and anxiety, using his platform to raise awareness and support for mental health issues. In June 2019, he uploaded a video titled "Basically I'm Gay," where he discussed his sexuality and the journey of self-acceptance.
