Dartmouth Medical School, now known as the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, is one of the oldest medical schools in the United States. It is part of Dartmouth College, a member of the Ivy League located in Hanover, New Hampshire.

Dartmouth Medical School was founded in 1797 by Dr. Nathan Smith, making it the fourth-oldest medical school in the United States. The school was originally established to address the shortage of medical practitioners in the region and to provide a comprehensive medical education.
In 2012, the school was renamed the Geisel School of Medicine in honor of Audrey and Theodor Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss, who were significant benefactors of the institution.
