Dawn Marie Sass

Dawn Marie Sass is an American politician who served as the Wisconsin State Treasurer from 2007 to 2011. She is a member of the Democratic Party.

Early Life and Education[edit | edit source]

Dawn Marie Sass was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where she earned a degree in Political Science.

Career[edit | edit source]

Before entering politics, Sass worked as a teacher and was involved in various community organizations. She ran for the office of Wisconsin State Treasurer multiple times before being elected in 2006.

Wisconsin State Treasurer[edit | edit source]

Sass was elected as the Wisconsin State Treasurer in 2006, defeating the incumbent Jack Voight. During her tenure, she focused on increasing the visibility and accessibility of the Treasurer's office. She worked on various initiatives to improve financial literacy and manage the state's unclaimed property program.

Elections[edit | edit source]

In the 2010 election, Sass was defeated by Kurt Schuller, a member of the Republican Party. After her term ended, she continued to be active in community service and political advocacy.
