DeLeón Tequila
DeLeón Tequila is a brand of tequila that is produced in the highlands of Purísima del Rincón, Guanajuato, Mexico. The brand is known for its high-quality, ultra-premium tequilas that are made from 100% Blue Weber agave.
History[edit | edit source]
DeLeón Tequila was founded by Brent Hocking in 2008. The brand quickly gained recognition for its unique bottle design and high-quality tequila. In 2013, the brand was acquired by a joint venture between Sean Combs and Diageo, a British multinational alcoholic beverages company. Since the acquisition, DeLeón Tequila has continued to grow in popularity and is now available in many countries around the world.
Production[edit | edit source]
DeLeón Tequila is made from 100% Blue Weber agave that is harvested in the highlands of Purísima del Rincón. The agave plants are allowed to mature for seven to ten years before they are harvested, which allows the plants to develop a high sugar content. After the agave is harvested, it is slow roasted in traditional brick ovens for 72 hours. The roasted agave is then crushed and fermented, and the resulting juice is distilled twice to produce tequila.
Products[edit | edit source]
DeLeón Tequila produces a range of tequilas, including Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, Extra Añejo, and Diamante. Each product has its own unique flavor profile and aging process. For example, the Blanco is unaged and has a pure, crisp flavor, while the Añejo is aged for over a year in American Oak barrels and has a rich, complex flavor.
Awards and recognition[edit | edit source]
DeLeón Tequila has received numerous awards and recognition for its high-quality tequilas. For example, it has received gold and double gold medals from the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, and it has been rated highly by Wine Enthusiast Magazine and other spirits rating organizations.
