De Cecco

From WikiMD's Wellness Encyclopedia

De Cecco is an Italian company producing dried pasta, flour and other related food products. It is the third largest manufacturer of pasta in the world.

History[edit | edit source]

De Cecco was founded in 1886 by the De Cecco brothers in the small town of Fara San Martino in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. The company began as a small pasta factory, producing high-quality pasta made from durum wheat. Over the years, De Cecco has expanded its product line to include a variety of pastas, sauces, and oils.

Products[edit | edit source]

De Cecco's main product is dried pasta, which is made from high-quality durum wheat. The company also produces a variety of other food products, including olive oil, tomato sauce, and biscuits. De Cecco's products are known for their quality and authenticity, and are used by chefs and home cooks around the world.

Manufacturing Process[edit | edit source]

De Cecco uses traditional methods to produce its pasta. The durum wheat is milled to produce semolina, which is then mixed with water to form a dough. The dough is extruded through bronze dies to give the pasta its shape, and then dried at low temperatures to preserve its nutritional value and flavor.

Distribution[edit | edit source]

De Cecco's products are distributed worldwide. The company has a strong presence in Europe, particularly in Italy, but its products are also available in North America, Asia, and Australia.
