History[edit | edit source]

Debonairs Pizza was founded by two university students in 1991. The founders, Craig McKenzie and Andrew Harvey, were inspired by the growing trend of pizza delivery services in the United States and decided to start their own in South Africa. They started operating from a family bakery in Pietermaritzburg.

In 1996, Debonairs Pizza was acquired by the Steers Group of Companies, which later became Famous Brands. This acquisition provided Debonairs Pizza with a robust support system, enabling it to become a leading pizza delivery brand.

Menu[edit | edit source]

Debonairs Pizza's menu offers a variety of pizzas, including traditional, specialty, and gourmet pizzas. The menu also includes side orders like chicken wings, ribs, and bread sides. Debonairs Pizza is known for its innovative flavors and its signature Triple-Decker and Crammed-Crust pizzas.

Expansion[edit | edit source]

Debonairs Pizza has expanded beyond South Africa's borders, with stores in various parts of Africa, including Botswana, Mozambique, and Namibia. The brand has also extended its reach to parts of Asia and the Middle East.
