Deep middle cerebral vein

The deep middle cerebral vein is a vein in the skull that accompanies the middle cerebral artery deep in the Sylvian fissure.

The deep cerebral veins two in number, one on each side.

Course[edit | edit source]

It runs along the middle cerebral artery

Area drained[edit | edit source]

The deep cerebral veins drain the deep white matter and grey matter in the area of basal cisterns and ventricular system

Empties in to[edit | edit source]

It empties into the basal vein
